Toyota Proace 2026 Model Year Gains New Diesel Engine and Improved Fuel Economy.
Redesigned Toyota Proace Lineup for 2026
According to Novyny.live: For the 2026 model year, Toyota has unveiled a revised Proace van series featuring a new 2.2 D-4D diesel engine. This powerplant replaces the previous 2.0-liter unit and complies with the stringent Euro 6e-bis emissions regulations, which became mandatory in January 2026. These engineering updates have resulted in a reduction of CO2 emissions and a notable improvement in fuel efficiency, with average consumption dropping by 1.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
Specifications of the New Powertrain
The base version of the new 2.2 D-4D engine delivers 150 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Its combined cycle fuel consumption starts from 6.2 liters per 100 km. An optional, more powerful 180 horsepower variant is also available, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This version generates 400 Nm of torque and consumes from 6.5 liters per 100 km.
The new Toyota Proace Verso 2026 is offered in two body lengths:
- The Medium variant, measuring 4983 mm in length;
- The Long variant, which is 5333 mm long.
Buyers can choose interior configurations capable of carrying between six and nine passengers. These updates underscore Toyota's commitment to refining its products to meet modern standards for both environmental performance and passenger comfort.
The launch of the updated 2026 Proace lineup highlights Toyota's focus on integrating cleaner technologies in response to evolving global emissions standards. This move is particularly relevant for commercial fleet operators in Europe, who are increasingly prioritizing lower operating costs and a reduced environmental footprint. The improvements in fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions are likely to appeal to businesses seeking efficient and eco-conscious transport solutions, reflecting Toyota's adaptation to both regulatory demands and shifting market preferences.
