Trump is close to agreeing to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine: what it means

According to inkorr.com: The terrorist army of the Russian Federation attacked Kharkiv with drones, and US President Donald Trump is close to making a decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, explosions were reported in Russian Belgorod, and the United States is undergoing a shutdown due to unsuccessful government funding.

Strike on Kharkiv

On the night of October 7, Russian occupiers attacked Kharkiv with drones, reported the city’s mayor Igor Terekhov. He noted that the Industrial District of the city was hit by missiles, resulting in a fire. There is currently no information on casualties.

During the twenty minutes of the attack, about two dozen explosions occurred in Kharkiv, leading to several fires. According to the Situation Center, the enemy made 25 strikes with Shahed combat drones, all aimed at the Nemishlyansky district.

Trump may transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that he is nearly ready to make a decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. However, he first wants to clarify how the Ukrainian military will use them.

“I think I want to clarify what they will do with them, where they will send them, probably. I would need to ask that question,” Trump clarified.

He also reiterated that the war between Russia and Ukraine “should never have started” and called the decision to start it a “mistake on both sides.”

Explosions in Belgorod

On the night of October 7, powerful explosions occurred in Belgorod amid missile danger. It is known that the city likely became a target for HIMARS missiles. Reports on social media mention power outages after the explosions.

It is also known that several fires were observed after the explosions in Belgorod.

Trump severed diplomatic ties with Venezuela

US President Donald Trump made the decision to completely sever diplomatic ties with Venezuela, ordering to halt all negotiations with Nicolás Maduro's government.

On October 6, 2025, he officially ordered this and instructed his special envoy Richard Grenell to suspend all contacts with the Venezuelan government. This step marks a new stage in the strained relations between Washington and Caracas, which have soured since 2019, when the countries severed diplomatic ties.

US shutdown continues

The US Senate failed to approve either of the two proposals for government funding, both from the Democrats and the Republicans.

The vote that took place on October 6 again ended in failure, and the country remained in a state of government shutdown.

The main cause of the disagreement concerns tax benefits for medical insurance for vulnerable groups of the population. Democrats insist on extending enhanced benefits for Americans purchasing private health insurance under the Obamacare program, while Republicans are categorically opposed.

At the same time, the White House is considering massive cuts among federal employees if negotiations prove fruitless.

At present, Ukraine is undergoing a series of attacks, including a drone attack on Kharkiv and the potential transfer of Tomahawk missiles from the US. These events could significantly influence the situation in both countries and the region, as they indicate an escalation of the conflict and new international commitments.
