According to ТСН: President of the United States Donald Trump signed bill S.1071 - the 'National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026' (NDAA).

The document took effect upon signing. It regulates the funding of the programs of the US Department of Defense, military construction, and various initiatives in the field of national security coordinated by the Department of Energy and the State Department.

The defense budget also includes measures to improve the social security of military personnel and provides additional powers for implementing changes in the areas of national and international security, trade, and judicial system.

Military spending and financial support for Ukraine

The total annual military spending of the US outlined in the document amounts to 901 billion dollars.

In addition, the law provides for financial support for Ukraine in the amount of 800 million dollars under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. The funds are planned to be allocated in two tranches - 400 million dollars in 2026 and 2027, which will be used to purchase American weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, who participated in two-day negotiations with the American delegation in Berlin (Germany) regarding the cessation of the war, characterized them as
