Donald Trump Announces New Peace Council
According to TSN.ua: As part of his 20-point peace plan, Donald Trump has announced the formation of a Peace Council intended to oversee postwar governance in the Gaza Strip. He has called on world leaders to join this body and collaborate on the region's reconstruction.
Key Leaders Receive Invitations
The following leaders are among those invited to participate:
- Viktor Orbán of Hungary, who was among the first to be asked by Trump;
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, who has also received an invitation;
- Vladimir Putin of Russia, who has confirmed receipt of the invitation;
- Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, who was also included on the list.
“We want everyone to be there,” Donald Trump noted, emphasizing the importance of collective participation in resolving the conflict.
Trump added that the “Council will do a lot of the work that the UN was supposed to do,” indicating a desire to create an effective mechanism for managing the situation in Gaza. This initiative represents a significant diplomatic effort to address one of the world's most intractable conflicts, though its success will depend on the cooperation of often adversarial figures.
Trump considers the establishment of this Peace Council a crucial step toward achieving regional stability and engaging key world leaders in the peace process. The inclusion of figures like Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin suggests potential shifts in diplomatic relations and possible new approaches to resolving the Gaza situation. Ultimately, the council's effectiveness will hinge on the willingness of its participants to cooperate and take concrete actions to stabilize Gaza.
