Trump Declares State of Emergency and Restores Death Penalty.
Re-elected U.S. President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. This regime provides for the involvement of the military and the deportation of illegal migrants, as well as the deployment of armed forces to complete the construction of the border wall. This was reported by CBC News and the White House.
President Trump also ordered the Department of Defense to prepare a plan for troops in support of the border mission and to involve as many units or members of the Armed Forces as needed to ensure security at the border. The order also includes cooperation between the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security with the Attorney General regarding the review of use of force policies and support for the security of Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security personnel at the border.
President Trump stated that this move is a protection of America's sovereignty and a confirmation of a serious threat to national security. He also signed a list of executive actions on immigration, which includes recognizing drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and limiting the acquisition of U.S. citizenship by birthright. An order was also signed regarding the death penalty, which provides for the execution of capital sentences in federal cases.
