President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk held a joint press conference in Warsaw, during which they discussed the issue of the Volhynian tragedy.

Tusk emphasized the need for empathy and a systematic approach to resolving historical issues between the countries. He also stated that he would not allow this tragedy to be used in political games and would prefer a quick resolution to the problem. The parties also discussed exchanging lists of locations for the exhumation of victims of the Volhynian tragedy.

The Ukrainian Institute of National Memory plans to search for the victims of the Volhynian tragedy in the Rivne region in accordance with the request of Polish citizens. The parties also did not find common ground regarding the restoration of Ukrainian graves on Mount Monaster in Poland. The Polish Institute of National Memory is ready to send specialists to Ukraine for search and exhumation work.

President Zelensky stated that the military contingent of partner countries could become an important component of future security guarantees for Ukraine. Poland also announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth 200 million euros and agreed to hold a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in 2026. The opening of new clusters in negotiations regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union is also planned during the Polish presidency in the EU.
