Shooter in Washington injured: Trump reacted to the attack on the National Guard.
According to ТСН: The shooter who severely injured two members of the U.S. National Guard in downtown Washington near the White House on Wednesday was also seriously injured.
U.S. President Donald Trump reported this on his social media platform Truth Social.
"The beast that shot two members of the National Guard, who suffered serious injuries and are now in two different hospitals, is also seriously injured, but despite this, will pay a very high price," he wrote.
The American leader expressed support for the National Guard troops and other law enforcement officers.
"God bless our Great National Guard and all our military and law enforcement officers. They are truly Great People. As the President of the United States, I and everyone associated with the Office of the President stand with you!" Trump’s post reads.
The National Guard was deployed in the nation’s capital at the direction of President Trump in August. According to the latest reports, 2,188 Guard members are patrolling the streets of Washington.
It is also worth mentioning that recently in the American city of Maryville (Tennessee), a police officer was severely injured during an accident while escorting a convoy of U.S. Vice President Jay Dyer.
This incident highlights the growing attention to security in the nation's capital, where the National Guard plays an important role in maintaining order. Incidents involving law enforcement raise concerns about the need for additional security measures in such unusual situations.
