In Bulgaria, a Ukrainian woman killed her two young children - local media.
In Vakarel, Bulgaria, a tragedy occurred - a woman took the lives of her two children: a 5-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son. Their father found the children's bodies. The woman, who became the perpetrator of the crime, confessed to her guilt and attempted suicide afterward.
According to the prosecutor's office, the woman intended to end her life. She was likely suffering from mental health issues and had spoken about her state. Psychologists are currently working with her to determine her mental state at the Time of the crime.
If the woman is charged with murder, she could face 15-20 years in prison, life imprisonment, or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. However, if a medical examination confirms the presence of a serious mental illness in the perpetrator, she may be forcibly hospitalized and exempted from criminal liability.
About the family
This family recently moved from the town of Aheloy to the village of Vakarel. In their hometown, they were considered an exemplary family. The father worked in construction and restaurants, while the mother worked in the kitchen of a tourist complex. The man often spent time with the children, and the family had no financial problems. Many people believed they were refugees from Ukraine.
So far, the Ukrainian embassy in Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not provided any information about this tragedy. All data are based solely on local Bulgarian media.
Earlier in Germany, a man was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a 9-year-old girl from Pavlograd. The court found that the murder was a particularly cruel crime, so it is likely that the man will not have the opportunity to apply for early release even after 15 years of imprisonment. It is also worth noting that the man denied his guilt despite the available evidence.
Let us remind you that 9-year-old Valeria disappeared on June 3, 2024, while walking to school. A week after her disappearance, her body with signs of violent death was found in the forest. The suspect in the murder - a 36-year-old citizen of Moldova - was detained in Prague on June 14.
Valeria, along with her mother, grandmother, and sister, arrived in Germany after the war in Ukraine began. Her father remained in Ukraine to defend the country at the front.
