In Britain, they calculated how many hours of life a pack of cigarettes takes away.
Scientists have found that smoking cigarettes takes away approximately 7 hours of a person’s life. One cigarette costs 20 minutes of precious time. It is also known that smoking has the greatest impact on the health of middle-aged people, said Dr. Sarah Jackson.
Getting hooked on smoking even a small number of cigarettes can have a serious impact on life expectancy. For example, if a person smoked 10 cigarettes a day and decides to quit smoking from January 1, they could save an entire day of life by January 8. If they manage to get rid of this harmful habit by February 5, they will gain another week, Jackson added.
It is worth noting that in Milan, a smoking ban has already been imposed on the streets with significant fines for violating this rule. The restrictions were introduced several years ago, but in the new year they will become even stricter.
