Half-Month Precipitation Norm for a Day: How Kyiv is Coping with a Severe Downpour.
On Wednesday, August 6, Kyiv experienced a heavy downpour that caused a number of problems for the city. In central areas, particularly Pechersk, the half-month precipitation norm fell, leading to increased activity among hydrological services.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration, due to the intensity of the rain, hydrological services are pumping out water and monitoring dangerous areas in the city. Currently, a significant amount of equipment is engaged in the work, including motor pumps and mobile pumping stations. Although some areas may have water accumulation, traffic on most streets remains open to vehicles.
Relevant services urge drivers to be cautious on the roads and maintain a safe distance. In case of flooding, they ask to contact the dispatch service of KK 'Kyivavtodor'. Furthermore, due to adverse weather conditions, issues with electricity supply have been detected in some areas of Kyiv region, resulting in some consumers being left without power.
On the day of the downpour in Kyiv, it is advisable to be attentive and careful, and if necessary, to seek assistance from the relevant services.
