Couple in Dnipro Region Under Investigation for Killing Their Own Child

According to inkorr.com: In Dnipro region, a court process is ongoing against a couple accused of killing their four-year-old son. According to investigators, the parents brutally beat the boy, inflicting over 20 bodily injuries. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office, as informed by 'Glavkom'.

In July 2025, the couple cruelly beat the child for over four days with their hands, feet, and a metal pipe. The reason for their actions was the boy's disobedience, as he took food from the breadbox without permission.

“The accused beat the boy in front of other children. The son had over 12 head injuries, more than 10 injuries to his body and limbs, as well as a dislocated shoulder and a broken arm. The boy died from traumatic shock,” the prosecutor's office stated.

The case is being reviewed under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for several years of imprisonment for murder with particular cruelty. The couple faces life imprisonment. Currently, both are in custody without the possibility of bail.

The court is also considering the issue of depriving parental rights regarding their two other children.

Incident in Kyiv

Additionally, a 17-year-old woman in Kyiv is suspected of inadequate care for her seven-month-old son. She left the child unattended and without food for four days, which led to a coma.

These incidents are horrifying and raise questions about the shortcomings in the child protection system, as well as the need for increased oversight from society and government agencies. Society demands not only punishment for the guilty but also reform of the system to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
