Kharkiv Traffic Changes on June 18: Which Routes Will Be Suspended Temporarily.
Public Transit Adjustments in Kharkiv
According to Novyny.live: On June 18, Kharkiv will see temporary public transport reroutes due to repairs on the overhead contact network and road surfaces. These restrictions will also affect vehicle movement in Virmenskyi Lane, causing some inconvenience for residents and visitors of the city.
Trolleybus service on Dudynska and Kholodnohirska streets will be halted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on June 18. As a result, route No. 27 will be split into two segments, potentially impacting passenger travel. Notably, bus No. 272 will not stop at the 'Virmenskyi Lane' stop from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on June 18, further limiting options for commuters during this period.
Driving Restrictions for Motorists
Motorists will also face movement limitations. On June 18 and 19, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, traffic in Virmenskyi Lane will be restricted. These measures aim to ensure safety and convenience during the repair work.
Despite these temporary challenges, public transport in Kharkiv remains free for city residents, an important factor in supporting population mobility amid the changes.
It is also worth noting that starting June 19, Ukrainian Railways will launch a new regional train between Dnipro and Kharkiv, offering an alternative for those planning trips between these cities. Additionally, repairs on a section of Soniachna Street in the village of Luzhok have been completed, indicating ongoing infrastructure improvement efforts in the region.
Temporary changes to public transit and vehicle traffic in Kharkiv reflect the city administration's efforts to maintain safety and enhance infrastructure.
Despite the inconveniences for residents, such measures can significantly improve road surface quality in the future. It is also important to consider the launch of the new regional train, which creates additional travel opportunities and may help reduce the strain on local transport during the repair period.
