The temperature in the Carpathians has fallen below -20°C
In the village of Verkhniy Yalovets, located at an altitude of 980 meters above sea level, the thermometer showed -23°C frost on the morning of December 14. This was reported by the head of the Selyatyn community of the Chernivtsi region, Valeriy Poliachuk. He also published photos showing that there is a lot of snow in the mountains.
«Good morning! Winter is coming as it should. It's cold, but beautiful, no one can deny that», – wrote Valeriy Poliachuk.
According to the Mountain Rescuers of Prykarpattia, as of 9:00 AM on December 14, it is clear on Mount Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi, with a west wind blowing at a speed of 13-15 m/s, and the air temperature is -10°C.
Reminder, that on Saturday, December 14, a cold snap with strong winds is expected throughout Ukraine.
Additionally, the Copernicus Climate Center (C3S) of the European Union reported that November of this year was the second warmest on record after last November.
