A Floating House Spotted on the Dnipro River in Kyiv: Why It’s Being Moved.
Relocation of a Floating House in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: A one-story house was seen drifting along the Dnipro River in Kyiv, specifically in the Obolon Bay area. This planned move is tied to the construction of the Pryrichna Park. Similar relocations of floating houses on the Dnipro have occurred before, typically during the autumn season.
The relocation of this floating house follows an official decision. The floating restaurant located in the Obolon bays lacks agreements with the River Ports Administration, the authority responsible for managing vessels on the Dnipro River. The structure also does not hold the necessary permits, which led to the decision to dismantle and remove it from the bay.
Reactions to the Situation
Andriy Vahin commented on the situation, noting that the absence of agreements with the River Ports Administration poses a problem for this structure.
“This building lacks the required permits, so a decision was made to dismantle it and remove it from the Obolon Bay,” he stated. The main restaurant building is also scheduled for relocation, confirming the authorities’ intent to bring the situation into compliance with legal standards.
This incident highlights the importance of adhering to rules and regulations governing the use of water resources. The floating restaurant’s missing documents may reflect a broader issue regarding the legality of such structures on Ukraine’s rivers. The relocation of the house as part of preparations for the Pryrichna Park also signals a push in urban projects aimed at improving the environment and developing the area.
