Today in Kyiv, a farewell was held for Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roschina, who died in Russian captivity in September 2024. This was reported by Novyny.LIVE journalist Halyna Ostapovets from the scene.
The farewell ceremony for the journalist took place at St. Michael's Cathedral, where dozens of people gathered - relatives, colleagues, and concerned Ukrainians. Victoria's body was placed in a closed coffin, decorated with a traditional loaf and an embroidered towel.
After the service in the cathedral, the hearse, accompanied by the police, proceeded to Independence Square, with traffic in the capital temporarily blocked. The deceased journalist is planned to be buried at Baikove Cemetery.
