Heating Restored to 2600 Kyiv Buildings, But Over 1100 Remain Without.
Heat Returns to Parts of Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: Following a Russian attack on February 12, heating has now been restored to 2600 residential buildings in Kyiv that were left without it. Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the completion of emergency repair work on infrastructure damaged during the assault. This ongoing conflict has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's energy grid, making repairs a constant challenge for utility crews.
'Heat supply has been restored to all 2600 buildings that were left without heating due to the enemy's attack on the capital's infrastructure on February 12,' stated Vitali Klitschko.
Critical Damage Persists in Some Areas
Despite this progress, over 1100 buildings in the Dnipro and Darnytsia districts remain without heat. The continued outage there is due to critical damage sustained by the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant (CHP), which is preventing the restoration of service.
Work is ongoing to repair the heat supply in areas where the infrastructure suffered significant damage. While restoring service to 2600 buildings is a crucial step for resident comfort, the situation remains critical for the households still waiting. The continued repair efforts highlight the work of local authorities and utility services, but also underscore the vulnerability of Kyiv's infrastructure to external attacks, especially during the cold winter months.
