According to UATV: Ukraine has received €3.9 billion from the European Union as the first installment of defense assistance, which will be allocated to drone production and front-line support. The total funding under the Ukraine Support Loan program has reached €7 billion. This tranche was disbursed on June 30, 2023, highlighting the critical role of international backing for Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict.

Additionally, on June 25, 2023, Ukraine obtained another €3.2 billion under the same program. The support mechanism, known as the Ukraine Facility, was updated as part of a broader €90 billion loan package from the EU. This underscores the growing financial commitment from the European Union aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Yulia Svyrydenko stated that 'these funds will be directed toward financing priority defense needs.'

The approval of the Ukraine support mechanism by the Council of the European Union occurred on June 29, 2023, further demonstrating coordinated action among European nations in backing Ukraine.
