Kyiv Launches Free Transport Service for Disabled Veterans: How to Apply.
Free Transport Service for Disabled Veterans Now Available
According to Novyny.live: A new, free transportation service for disabled veterans has been launched in Kyiv. This initiative, based at the Kyiv Military Hub, is designed to support veterans who have sustained war-related disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs, have amputations, or have visual impairments. The service is also available for defenders with temporary mobility restrictions. This program is part of broader efforts to assist those who have served during the ongoing conflict.
Specially equipped vehicles with lifts provide comfortable, cost-free travel. To use the service, an application must be submitted along with several documents. These include:
- passport,
- tax identification code,
- document confirming veteran status or a war-related disability,
- relevant medical certificates.
Scanned copies of all documents can be sent to the email address: [email protected].
Service Limitations and Additional Veteran Support
It should be noted that the service is available exclusively within Kyiv, which may limit access for veterans from other regions. However, veterans can also benefit from substantial utility bill discounts of 75% on:
- housing,
- heating,
- electricity,
- gas,
- cold and hot water,
- waste removal,
- liquefied gas and solid fuel.
This initiative underscores society's commitment to veterans and their needs.
The launch of this new transport service in Kyiv represents a significant step in improving accessibility and support for this vulnerable population. Given the potential difficulties for veterans outside the capital, expanding similar programs to other cities would allow more people to receive necessary assistance. Furthermore, the utility discounts will help ease the financial burden on veterans, aiding their reintegration into civilian life.
