Explosions and fire near the airport in occupied Crimea
On August 6, explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Crimea, followed by a fire near the 'Oktyabrskoye' airport. This was reported by the 'Crimean Wind' publication.
It is noted that the explosions were heard near the village of Shyroke at ammunition depots.
Train traffic suspended:
- No. 27/28 Simferopol - Moscow, departure on August 6 from Simferopol, stopped at 17.34 near Ostryakovo station;
- No. 175/176 Moscow Paveletskaya - Simferopol, departure on August 5 from Moscow, stopped at 17.29 near Krasnopartyzanska station.
The Simferopol-Krasnoperekopsk road closure was also announced.
On the night of August 6, powerful explosions occurred in several cities of the Kursk region. The explosions were audible in Sudzha, Korenov, Lgovsky, Belovsky, Kurchatovsky, and Oktyabrsky districts. Initially, the authorities warned of missile danger, and then of drone attacks.
It was later reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly penetrated into the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. War correspondents report that battles are taking place on sections of the state border located in the directions of Nikolayevo-Dariine and Sudzha-Gogolivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting serious artillery preparation and planning to increase pressure.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claims that the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Russian positions on the border in the Kursk region. After the artillery preparation, up to 300 Ukrainian military personnel attacked the positions of border units in the areas of the villages of Nikolayevo-Dariino and Oleshnya in the Kursk region, located on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
