A mass protest took place in Los Angeles over Trump's immigration policy.
A protest rally against Donald Trump's immigration policy was held in downtown Los Angeles. According to NBC, the participants of the rally blocked traffic on the 101 freeway and nearby streets, unfurling banners criticizing the tightening of immigration control.
The city police stated that the event was unauthorized, and the demonstrators did not have a permit.
Protesters chanted slogans condemning the actions of the Trump administration towards migrants. Despite the temporary closure, traffic on the freeway was managed to be restored in the shortest possible time.
Authorities have not reported any arrests or other dangerous incidents related to the action so far.
Earlier, it became known that U.S. President Donald Trump also plans to sign an order regarding the preparation of a site at the Guantanamo military base for holding deported migrants.
It is reported that officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ordered a suspension of several programs that allowed immigrants to temporarily settle in the United States, including an initiative that provides entry for Ukrainians.
The U.S. government will deport citizens who remained in the country after their visa expired, said White House Press Secretary Karolina Levitt at a briefing.
