New Financial Measures Set for Ukraine in 2026

According to Novyny.live: In February 2026, Ukraine will implement new financial provisions for specific professions, including energy workers, utility employees, and teachers. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved additional payments of 20,000 hryvnias for specialists in emergency repair crews. Workers at energy companies, housing and communal services (HCS) enterprises, and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) will receive these funds. The first payments, covering January 2026, will be issued in February.

Support for Energy, Utility, and Education Sectors

These supplements for energy and utility workers represent a significant step in supporting these professions under challenging conditions. According to the Government Portal, Ukrainian energy workers, heating specialists, gas workers, utility employees, and railway workers will receive the stated sum from the state in addition to their salaries. This decision aims to improve the financial situation of workers performing crucial functions for the country's infrastructure.

Furthermore, under Decree No. 1749 dated December 26, 2025, teachers will also receive increased salaries. Teachers will receive the first of these increased payments by the end of January 2026. The payments will be made in full based on the state educational subvention and additional payments from local self-government bodies, as noted by Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Therefore, the new measures affect not only the energy sector but also education, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to improving the financial circumstances of workers across different industries.

Raising salaries for teachers and providing supplements for energy and utility workers could become important factors in maintaining their motivation and improving the quality of services provided to the public. This also underscores the government's commitment to the social support of professions that are of particular importance to the functioning of society. These changes come as Ukraine continues to manage the economic pressures of wartime and reconstruction.
