The Ministry of Defense announced the number of destroyed Russian tanks.
The defense forces of Ukraine destroyed and damaged 3,179 tanks of the Russian army since the beginning of the year, according to the Ministry of Defense.
Over 10 months, Ukrainian defenders have disabled 102 Russian tank battalions, each comprising 31 tanks.
May 12, known as "tanker's day" for Russians, became a day of heavy losses. In one day, defense forces units destroyed 31 Russian tanks, leading to the loss of an entire tank battalion of the Russian Federation.
"Such losses may cost the aggressor country's budget at least 9 billion US dollars. This is an approximate amount based on calculations at average world prices for this type of armament (according to information from open sources)," stated the Ministry of Defense.
This sum, equivalent to 9 billion dollars, is approximately the 16-year budget of Chelyabinsk, a city with the worst environmental situation in Russia.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that Russia's war expenses are enormous, while social problems of the aggressor country remain unresolved.
