In Germany, a car drove into a crowd at a Christmas market: dozens injured.


In Magdeburg, Germany, a tragic event occurred – a car crashed into a crowd of people at a Christmas market. According to official reports, between 60 and 80 people were injured as a result of the incident.
Witnesses report that the car simply drove into the crowd heading towards the Magdeburg Town Hall. People panicked and started to run.
Immediately after, the Christmas market was closed, and the organizers urged local residents to leave the city center.

Regional government spokesperson Matthias Schuppe stated that this incident is a terrorist act. The driver who deliberately drove into the crowd has already been detained.
It is currently unknown if the perpetrator had accomplices. The police also surrounded the area near the incident site, as there may be an explosive device in the perpetrator's vehicle.
Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the information from Magdeburg "talks about something bad".
Recall that recently at a festival in Thailand, an explosive device went off, resulting in at least three deaths and dozens injured.
Also, near Jerusalem, an unknown person opened fire on a passenger bus, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old child and several others injured.
In November, a bombing at a railway station in Pakistan resulted in at least 25 deaths, including 14 servicemen. More than 50 people were injured. The explosion occurred in the southwestern city of Quetta as about 100 passengers were waiting for a train to Rawalpindi.
