Support for the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine is growing in Germany.
Ukraine will receive TAURUS missiles from Germany, as confirmed by many German politicians, including candidates for chancellor Friedrich Merz and Robert Habeck.
'If Putin does not accept this, then we must say: if he does not stop bombing the civilian population of Ukraine within 24 hours, then Germany must send TAURUS missiles to destroy the supply routes that this regime uses,' said candidate for chancellor of Germany from the CDU Friedrich Merz.
'The answer to this question is yes. However, arms supplies have always been one of the most difficult decisions made by the government,' noted candidate for chancellor of Germany from the Greens Robert Habeck.
The transfer of TAURUS missiles to Ukraine is also supported by German lawmakers.
'Most members of the German parliament and part of the government, except for Chancellor Olaf Scholz, support us. We must be in line with our allies. Their position has changed, so I think Germany's position should change as well,' emphasized former Deputy Minister of Finance of Germany Florian Toncar.
A proposal for the supply of TAURUS missiles to Kyiv will be considered by the German parliament next week. The initiative will be submitted for a vote by the 'Free Democratic Party' of Germany.
'The Biden administration in the US is taking decisive action. Now Germany must follow its example and transfer TAURUS missiles to Ukraine,' said leader of the 'Free Democratic Party' faction Christian Dürr.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to use Mini-Taurus - kamikaze drones that autonomously navigate the terrain using artificial intelligence and can continue to move towards their designated target even if they lose connection.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius reported that Berlin will transfer 4,000 strike drones to Kyiv.
