Territorial Defense Brigades have been formed in all voivodeships in Poland
In Poland, Territorial Defense Brigades (WOT) have already been formed in each of the 16 voivodeships of the country, reported the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of Poland, General Krzysztof Sthančik.
'We have completed the project of forming territorial defense forces in every voivodeship. On Wednesday, the last WOT units – two battalions – were assigned to the newly created 17th Opole Territorial Defense Brigade. Thus, we have completed the process of building brigade structures in voivodeships across Poland,' - stated Sthančik.
He added that there are currently no plans to create new TDF brigades, but a special border protection component will be established within the existing structures.
'Starting in 2027, this new component will be incorporated into the TDF Forces. It will be formed based on existing or newly created brigades - the 19th Nadbużańska and 20th Przemyśl Brigades,' - reported the commander of the TDF Forces of Poland.
The TDF forces are a separate branch of the Polish Armed Forces, alongside the Land, Air, Naval, and Special Forces.
