Zelensky may refuse NATO membership: what we know about the negotiations in Berlin.
According to ТСН: In the Kremlin, cynical statements continue to emerge, claiming that their 'leader' Vladimir Putin is supposedly 'open to peace'.
This was reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
'Putin is open to peace and serious decisions. He is against creating temporary ceasefires and tricks.'
According to Peskov, establishing deadlines for 'Ukrainian settlement' is 'a thankless task'.
He also noted that Washington does not provide the Kremlin with real-time information about contacts with Ukraine taking place in Berlin. Moscow is waiting for news only after the negotiations have concluded.
The publication BILD, citing sources with information about the negotiations, states that there is a real chance for peace in Ukraine. European interlocutors claim that US President Donald Trump may announce 'peace by Christmas'.
As reported by The New York Times, President Vladimir Zelensky may be ready for a compromise. Kyiv is allegedly prepared to temporarily refuse NATO membership in exchange for strong security guarantees from the US that could prevent a new Russian invasion.
This situation highlights the complexity of international relations and Ukraine's pursuit of security amid a prolonged war. Putin's words and reactions from the US indicate that a possible dialogue between the states remains relevant, but real progress still requires efforts from both sides.
