Reuters learned what signal to send Trump regarding Ukraine at the EU leaders' summit.
European Union leaders intend to support Ukraine
European Union leaders plan to send a 'clear signal' to the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding their continued support for Ukraine, reports 'Khvylya'. The draft statement of the summit states that the leaders will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and confirm their support for Ukraine.
The leaders will also discuss security and economic issues related to Trump's return to the White House. Russia must not win, says the draft conclusions of the EU, which also notes that no initiative regarding Ukraine should be carried out without the involvement of Kyiv.
Relations between the EU and the U.S. will also be discussed, particularly concerns about a possible trade war. Trump has expressed concern over the U.S. goods trade deficit, so the EU is considering proposing to purchase more American goods or weapons.
