A student staged a massacre in a Slovak school. Two are known to be dead.
A shooting occurred at a local gymnasium in Spisska Stara Ves, Slovakia, resulting in the deaths of two people. Local media report this.
According to preliminary data, among the deceased is a 54-year-old school teacher and a 17-year-old student. At least two others were injured, one of whom is in critical condition in the hospital. The assailant was detained by the police after the shooting. It turned out that he is an 18-year-old student of the gymnasium.
The Slovak Minister of the Interior, Matúš Šutaj-Šikta, condemned the attack and stated that he would personally visit the scene.
Media reports indicate that the attacker is known as a successful student who represented the school in Olympiads and sports competitions. However, it is unknown what provoked him to carry out the attack.
In early January, a shooting occurred in New York near a nightclub, resulting in at least 10 people being injured.
On January 1st, in New Orleans, USA, a truck at high speed crashed into a crowd. The driver exited and opened fire. The incident took place on Bourbon Street, one of the main streets in the city's tourist area. As a result, 10 people died, and at least 30 were injured.
Also, on January 1st in Montenegro, in the city of Cetinje, a shooting occurred in a bar, resulting in 12 deaths.
According to reports from Montenegrin state television, the main suspect in the attack is 34-year-old Ayo Martinović, who is attributed with a 'unstable character.' He has previously been detained for illegal possession of weapons.
