In the city of Sumy, an explosion occurred during an air alert. It is likely that it was a drone that hovered over the city for more than 1.5 hours. This was reported by the mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar.

Earlier, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the activity of reconnaissance drones in the Sumy region. Then explosions were heard in the city, and black smoke was spotted.

«Once again, an explosion occurred in the city of Sumy. It may be that «Shahed» that circled over the city for more than 1.5 hours,» Kobzar said.

It is worth noting that the Russian army attacked the center of Sumy yesterday, on Palm Sunday. The Russian Federation shelled the city with cluster munitions.

Medical institutions in the city of Sumy are providing assistance to 38 victims following yesterday's ballistic strike by Russia, among them - 9 children. 11 people are in serious condition, including 3 children.

Later, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his deepest condolences to those killed and injured by the Russian missile strike on Sumy.

Also, Trump's special representative in Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, stated that the Russian attack on Sumy «croses any line of acceptability.» He added that as a former military man, he understands that such targeted strikes are unacceptable.

U.S. President Donald Trump also commented on the Russian strike on Sumy, where at least 34 people were killed.

«I think it was terrible. And I’ve been told that they (the Russians - Glavcom) made a mistake. But I think it’s a terrible thing. I think the whole war is a terrible thing,» Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, returning to Washington.
