Mike Waltz, who will become a security advisor in Donald Trump's administration, stated that they may consider the Hungarian Prime Minister's proposals for a 'Christmas truce'. He made this statement in a Sunday interview on CBS News.

'Orbán is regularly in contact with the Russians and evidently has a good relationship with President Trump. I hope the whole world will want to see a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine,' said Mike Waltz.

'We need to stop the fighting. And when it comes to a certain type of ceasefire as a first step, we will carefully consider what it means,' he added.

Waltz refrained from commenting on specific details of the proposal and answering questions regarding the future policy of the Trump administration towards Ukraine.

'Immediately after the elections, everyone who comes to us, including our European allies, President Zelensky, and others, discusses how to end the conflict,' said Mike Waltz.

It is worth noting that on December 11, Orbán announced that Hungary proposed a ceasefire regime and the exchange of prisoners of war with Ukraine at Christmas, but this idea was rejected by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
