Western components found in North Korean missile shot down over Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls for strengthening sanctions against Russia and North Korea due to the discovery of components produced by Western companies in missiles supplied from Russia for attacks on Ukraine. This was reported by Minister Andriy Sybiha.
«Outrageous. A recent analysis of the North Korean missile KN-23/24, shot down in Ukraine, showed that it contains components from Western production», - said Sybiha.
According to the minister, the leaders of Russia and North Korea still have access to components produced in the West for arms production.
Therefore, Sybiha urged allies to «respond decisively, strengthen sanctions and export controls, and reinforce our air shield».
It was previously reported that the US is concerned about the possible presence of thousands of North Korean troops on the side of Russia, but there is currently no independent confirmation of this information.
South Korea also considers the deployment of troops by North Korea in the Ukrainian war a serious threat to international security.
Additionally, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov told The War Zone magazine that about 11,000 North Korean infantrymen are stationed in eastern Russia, preparing for combat operations in Ukraine.
Later, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that he could not confirm reports of the deployment of troops from North Korea to Russia before the possible escalation of the war in Ukraine. He noted that such a move by North Korea would be a cause for concern if proven true.
