In Zhytomyr, schools are going to distance learning due to environmental threat.
In Zhytomyr, due to a fire at the solid waste landfill, schools will operate in a distance format. This was reported by the press service of the city council on their Facebook page. Kindergartens will continue to operate as usual, but outdoor walks are temporarily canceled. All sports competitions and training planned outdoors will also be canceled. The decision was made according to the recommendations of ecologists.
Employees of the Zhytomyr Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the city council, are monitoring air quality, which will help determine the level of pollution.
A fire occurred at the landfill in Zhytomyr, and smoke spread across the city. The fire has been localized, but some measures have been taken to ensure the safety of children. Fires have also been registered in Vyshneve, Brovary, and in the area of a garage cooperative in Kyiv.
