Attacks on the Oil Refinery

According to UATV: Ukrainian defense forces conducted strikes on the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region and in the waters of the Sea of Azov. On July 12, 2023, Ukrainian military targeted one of the largest oil processing facilities in the Samara region, which has an annual capacity of up to 8.5 million tons of crude oil. This plant produces gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, making it a critical asset for the enemy's logistics.

Naval Assaults

In addition, Ukrainian drones attacked 10 tankers and 4 Russian ferries in the Sea of Azov. The defense forces also hit a train carrying fuel and lubricants near Tokmak in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. These operations are part of ongoing efforts to degrade the enemy's military resources and disrupt supply lines.

Earlier, Ukrainian defense forces struck the Kalmiuske combined arms training ground near Dokuchayevsk in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. These actions highlight the military's active campaign against the aggressor and its focus on targeting strategic infrastructure in the region.

The refinery strike and naval attacks demonstrate Ukraine's determination to weaken the enemy's ability to sustain its military operations. By destroying critical infrastructure, such as fuel production and transport assets, Ukraine aims to limit the supply of petroleum products to Russian forces, potentially shifting the dynamics on the battlefield. These measures are part of a broader strategy to counter aggression and regain control over Ukrainian territory.
