Ukrainian Armed Forces Hit Russian Oil Refineries: Damage Levels Exceed 90%.
Strikes by Ukraine's Military on Russian Oil Processing Facilities
According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine's Armed Forces have carried out attacks on oil refineries inside Russia, causing significant destruction. On June 16, they struck the Moscow Refinery in Kapotnya for the first time, damaging the primary oil processing unit ELOU-AVT-6. The facility was forced to halt operations temporarily. Notably, this refinery lies just 12 kilometers from the Kremlin, highlighting the proximity of the strikes to Russia's political center.
Two days later, on June 18, Ukrainian forces hit a complex oil processing unit, three RVS-10000 storage tanks, and one RVS-30000 tank. That same day, a second attack on the refinery ignited an oil depot in Gukovo, located in the Rostov region. After these two strikes, the Moscow Refinery suffered over 90% damage, underscoring the severity of the impact on the plant's operations.
Economic Fallout from the Attacks
Russia's stock market has since plunged to its lowest point in a year and a half, a downturn potentially linked to these events. The strikes have inflicted serious financial losses and sparked alarm within Russia's industrial sector.
