Zelensky: Ukraine is preparing a contract for 25 Patriot systems from the USA.

'In coordination with the relevant U.S. agencies, we have built conversations with defense companies regarding air defense, preparing a contract for 25 Patriot systems. These are 25 systems that are needed. We spent a lot of time negotiating with companies, in discussions in the White House, and personally with the President. This is a request from our army, from the Air Force, specifically from air defense,' Zelensky said.

The state leader also emphasized the importance of the work of the delegation that visited the USA to organize meetings and discussions with American partners. In particular, they discussed the possibilities of obtaining 'Patriots' from other NATO countries.

Financial Component and Prospects of the Agreement

Zelensky explained that the financing of the contract for the supply of 'Patriot' systems has already been developed, including the use of frozen Russian assets, and requires coordination of other funding sources. He noted that an important part of this agreement is cooperation with partner countries.

'For us, it is clear that the source of these funds number one is the money from the use of frozen Russian assets. We have 28 bilateral security agreements with countries at the moment. Finding financing and making advance payments is a task, and within the framework of these agreements, it is feasible,' he explained.

Furthermore, Zelensky expressed his vision of the situation with 'Tomahawks' and the possibility of dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
