Italian Boiler Shipment to Aid Heating Crisis in Ukrainian Cities, Including Odesa.
Italian Boiler Equipment Delivery
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has taken delivery of 78 boiler units from Italy, a crucial step in repairing heating systems damaged by Russian attacks, particularly in Odesa and other affected cities. This shipment, weighing over 208 tons, has a combined capacity exceeding 112 MW and is valued at approximately €1.86 million. This aid is vital as Ukraine prepares for another winter with a damaged energy grid.
Allocation for Critical and Social Infrastructure
The boilers will be deployed to essential public facilities, including:
- Hospitals
- Schools
- Administrative buildings
- Critical infrastructure sites
They will be distributed to communities in the Chernihiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kyiv regions to improve local heating situations. This targeted distribution aims to protect vulnerable populations during the cold months.
The Italian government continues its support, with negotiations underway for a subsequent shipment of over 300 boiler units boasting a total capacity of more than 800 MW. Ukrainian Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Oleksii Kuleba, confirmed the importance of this Italian assistance for enhancing the country's heating supply.
"This delivery is part of a broader international effort to restore Ukraine's war-damaged infrastructure," — Oleksii Kuleba.
Italy's support underscores European solidarity with Ukraine and a commitment to helping rebuild critical systems, which is fundamental to improving living conditions in the war-impacted regions.
