New data about the Russians whose military personnel are unknown what happened to them emerges in the Ukrainian state project 'I want to find'. The Secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War received about 50 thousand inquiries about missing soldiers. This figure does not account for Russians already known to have died, their total number exceeding 100 thousand.
The Russian prisoners of war the Secretariat cares for are scattered across the fields of Ukraine, and Russia shows no interest in their identification. The number of missing Russians is about 48 thousand, but according to other data, it exceeds 100 thousand.
Approximately 600 thousand military personnel of the Russian army remain in the reclaimed territories of Ukraine, and this number has not changed recently.
New data on the involvement of Russian military
According to data from November 2024, Russia has recruited from 140 to 180 thousand individuals who were imprisoned to participate in the war against Ukraine. Vladimir Putin also ordered the organization of annual competitions for people with disabilities, including those who participated in military actions against Ukraine, and promised them monetary rewards.
