Ukraine has returned five more children from Russia and occupied territories.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, reported that five more Ukrainian children have returned from Russia and temporarily occupied territories to controlled territory in Ukraine. Among them are three young Ukrainians who have just become adults. Two of them had been in Russia for a long Time, facing psychological pressure, while the third young man, deprived of family support, has finally left the occupied territory.
“Another important achievement was the liberation of a family of four, in which children aged 11 and 14 became targets of persecution due to the pro-Ukrainian stance of the family, as well as assistance to a 77-year-old woman who was unable to evacuate on her own. Their stories are evidence of the terror and fear that people are forced to live under occupation,” Yermak noted.
This became possible thanks to the initiative Bring Kids Back UA, joint actions of government agencies, volunteers, NGOs, and international partners. The head of the Office of the President emphasized that Ukrainians who have endured difficult trials have finally returned home.
Earlier, two girls aged 6 and 14 years were also able to return from temporarily occupied territories. In addition, another fifteen children were returned from the occupied part of Ukraine.
Australia has joined the international coalition of countries for the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia, reported ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
