Ukraine unveils 'Behemoth' drone carrying 75 kg of explosives with a 300 km range.
New drones and robotic systems from Ukraine
According to UATV: Ukraine's defense forces have introduced a new strike drone called the 'Behemoth,' capable of carrying 75 kg of explosives over a distance of 300 km. Already in serial production, this drone is designed to enhance the effectiveness of Ukrainian military strike operations on the front line. According to a project representative,
“the total warhead is 75 kilograms of explosives. One fragment is high-explosive fragmentation, and the second, located further back where the fuel tanks would be, is thermobaric.”
In addition to the 'Behemoth,' Ukrainian forces are also actively using the ground robotic system 'Droid.' It represents the world's first documented case of a wheeled robot destroying enemy equipment in combat. As one soldier noted,
“six months ago we deployed it on the front line. Now it is highly effective against 'Shahed' drones.”
Drone 'P1-Sun' and defense technology investments
Another key element of Ukraine's defense technology is the 'P1-Sun' drone. This aircraft features a 3D-printed body, reaches speeds of up to 310 km/h, and costs around $1,000. The 'P1-Sun' has already recorded 3,500 successful strikes against 'Shahed' drones, demonstrating its high efficiency in countering enemy threats. Experts say, “it has performed very well; the military leaves very positive feedback and is extremely satisfied with it.”
Since the start of 2026, Ukrainian forces have received nearly 500,000 unmanned aerial vehicles and robotic systems. Over 31 billion hryvnias have been allocated to the drone program, while international partners have contributed more than $2.5 billion to develop Ukrainian unmanned technologies. More than 450 Ukrainian companies are working on new FPV drones, interceptor drones, and artificial intelligence systems, underscoring the rapid growth of this sector in Ukraine.
The unveiling of these new drones and robotic systems highlights the increasing role of innovative technologies in Ukraine's military operations. With substantial investments in the defense industry and strong support from international partners, the country is demonstrating its commitment to enhancing its defensive capabilities. This could also shift the strategic situation on the front line, providing Ukrainian troops with new tools for combat and countering enemy threats.
