Ukraine is developing a rocket capable of reaching Moscow – The Economist.
Ukraine has begun developing a new rocket that will be able to reach Moscow and is named 'Trembita'. The basic version of the rocket has a speed of 400 km/h and a range of 200 km, but a more powerful model is being worked on to reach the capital of Russia. The rocket has been developed over a year and a half, which is quite fast for this process.
Ukraine plans to revive its industry through such military projects, as rocket innovations were an important sector in the past. The Ukrainian plant 'Southern Machine-Building Plant' previously produced strategic missiles, but this process was halted in 1994. The new rocket 'Trembita' will become one of the breakthrough projects of the country.
About half a dozen (six) new missile and missile-drone crossovers are already ready for flight. They may be joined by another dozen smaller projects. The most famous of them is 'Neptune' – a long-range cruise missile created based on anti-ship weaponry. It is known for sinking the Russian flagship 'Moskva' in 2022.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov claims that the next year, 2025, will be the year of the Ukrainian cruise missile.
The Russian rocket 'Oreshnik', which was referred to as a new development, has actually existed for several years. Analysts published photos of debris with a production date of 2017. For its part, Ukraine has also demonstrated its missile capabilities by destroying the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet with rockets from the 'Neptune' system.
