According to UATV: On July 1, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha traveled to Tokyo, where agreements were reached to strengthen bilateral ties between Ukraine and Japan and to advance their defense partnership. This visit comes amid growing cooperation between the two nations across multiple sectors, particularly in technology.
Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in restoring the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra through UNESCO mechanisms. This underscores Japan’s serious intent to assist Ukraine in cultural and historical preservation efforts.
Prior Visits and Collaboration
Earlier, on June 23, a Japanese delegation visited Kyiv, including Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kenji Yamada and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayano Kunimitsu. These visits highlight Japan’s growing interest in deepening its partnership with Ukraine.
