The President of the Garlic Producers Association of Ukraine, Yulianna Mussa, reported that Ukraine currently can satisfy only 30% of its garlic needs. The reason for this situation is the reduction of the area under garlic cultivation due to the occupation of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions over the past three years. Additionally, the incomplete accounting of accurate statistics is complicated by the unofficial operation of farms. Critical issues also exist in the storage of garlic, as Ukrainian farmers lack professional storage facilities. This leads to a decrease in production. To improve the situation, it is necessary to develop the industry and invest in modern storage facilities for the harvest.
