Ukraine Strikes Oil Refineries in Ufa and a Fuel Depot in Kuban: Key Details.
Ukraine Hits Russian Oil Refineries and Fuel Storage
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian forces have successfully targeted the 'Poltavskaya' fuel depot in the Krasnodar region, along with two oil refineries in Ufa, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The strikes occurred overnight, highlighting ongoing military operations deep within Russian territory.
The 'Poltavskaya' depot, located roughly 300 kilometers from the front lines, was hit as part of a broader operation. Ukrainian troops also struck the 'Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim' and 'Bashneft-Novoyl' refineries in Ufa, which are approximately 1,500 kilometers from the front. These distances demonstrate the extended reach of Ukraine's defense forces.
“Tonight, units of the Defense Forces struck the 'Poltavskaya' fuel depot in the Krasnodar region. The distance to the target was about 300 kilometers from the front line. In the morning, the SBU hit two refineries in Ufa—'Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim' and 'Bashneft-Novoyl.' That is 1,500 kilometers from the front line.”

These attacks are part of a Ukrainian strategy to degrade Russia's economic strength and apply pressure on its resource base. The situation on the battlefield remains tense, and further strikes could shift the dynamics of the conflict.
By hitting strategically important assets far from the front, Ukraine is showcasing its ability to conduct long-range operations. This could significantly disrupt Russian military logistics and supply chains. The evolving tactics reflect Ukraine's aim to weaken the enemy's war-fighting capacity by targeting critical infrastructure. Going forward, such actions may alter the balance of power and play a key role in shaping the strategies of both sides.
