Ukrainians are shown professions with salaries up to 120 thousand hryvnias: and they are not programmers.
There is an imbalance in the labor market in Ukraine, where workers receive the highest salaries, while specialists such as lawyers, economists, and librarians face difficulties in finding jobs. This was reported by the director of the State Employment Service, Yulia Zhovtyak.
According to the State Employment Service, welders and CNC operators can earn up to 120 thousand hryvnias per month. 'Almost all sectors of the economy are experiencing a significant personnel shortage,' noted Yulia Zhovtyak. This is especially true for the transport sector, construction, and manufacturing. The Ministry of Economy predicts that in the next 10 years, Ukraine will lack approximately 4.5 million workers.
Popular professions in the labor market
- Seamstresses: skills in sewing and garment processing are required.
- Electricians: specialists in electrical installation.
- Plumbers: specialists in plumbing and heating.
- Welders: professionals in welding.
- Auto mechanics: specialists in car repair.
- CNC machine operators: specialists who work with computer-controlled machines.
Salaries for electric welders can reach 100 thousand hryvnias, while for CNC operators - up to 120 thousand hryvnias. However, there is a problem of structural unemployment in the labor market, where the skills of workers do not match the needs of the market.
Economists, lawyers, librarians, and other specialists find it hard to find jobs due to the insufficient demand for their services.
The State Employment Service is actively engaged in retraining citizens to address these issues. The unemployed can receive training at the state's expense, and individuals over 45 years old, veterans, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities are provided with training vouchers.
One of the new trends is the increase in the number of women in 'male' professions. For example, in 2024, about 300 women became CNC operators, 128 became crane operators, and nearly 200 learned the profession of tractor drivers.
Employers are forced to offer additional incentives to attract workers due to the shortage of specialists. This may include housing payment or participation in loan programs, health insurance, free meals, and organization of transport to work.
Remote work is also becoming increasingly popular, providing the opportunity to earn over 40 thousand hryvnias without leaving home.
