Ukrainians explained who can check military registration documents and what threatens refusal to accept the summons.
Who can check citizens' military registration documents?
The Ombudsman of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, reported on Telegram about the possible consequences of refusing a summons and the procedure for checking military registration documents.
Check of military registration documents includes verifying the citizen's obligation to serve, checking personal data and document information against the 'Oberih' register. If violations are detected, the citizen is asked to contact the TCC for military registration. If the citizen refuses, the police officer detains him and delivers him to the nearest TCC.
Checks of military registration documents can be conducted by representatives of the state border guard, the State Border Service, TCCs, and the police.
Refusal to accept a summons may lead to administrative detention and delivery to the nearest TCC based on articles of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses.
Men aged 18 to 60 must always have their military registration document with them and present it at the request of representatives of TCCs, the police, and the State Border Service in border areas and at border crossing points of Ukraine.
