How Ukrainians Budget for Everyday Comfort

According to Мінфін — Крипто/Фінанси: According to a study by Kantar Ukraine, Ukrainians allocate significant funds to daily comfort, personal care, health, and leisure. The survey reveals that 67% of Ukrainians regularly spend money on transportation, coffee, snacks, and dining out, with average monthly expenses reaching 4,603 UAH. For about 47% of respondents, these costs have become a standard part of their budget.

Additionally, 55% of Ukrainians invest in self-care and personal development, while 49% set aside money for health-related needs. Pet care accounts for 35% of spending, and leisure activities make up 30%. Among younger people aged 18 to 29, average monthly spending climbs to 5,906 UAH, reflecting their more active lifestyles and distinct consumption habits.

Paid Subscriptions on the Rise

Beyond daily expenses, 56% of Ukrainians now use paid subscription services. The most popular options include:

• Video streaming platforms — 33%
• Music streaming services — 25%

A majority of subscribers (58%) spend up to 500 UAH per month on these services. However, only 18% of respondents report being fully satisfied with their subscription costs.

The study is based on an online survey of 1,000 respondents aged 18 to 55, conducted in May 2026. This provides a representative snapshot of consumer behavior and financial priorities in Ukraine today.

These findings highlight the importance of everyday spending for Ukrainians, underscoring their commitment to comfort and personal growth. Rising expenses among younger demographics may signal shifting consumer trends that could reshape the market for goods and services. At the same time, the growing popularity of paid subscriptions points to evolving media and leisure consumption patterns, with potential long-term effects on related industries. This research illustrates how Ukrainians' financial priorities are adapting to new living conditions and emerging consumer trends.
