Record Number of Ukrainians Abroad Register for National Exam: Minister Reveals 30,000 Figure.
Surge in Registrations for the National Multi-Subject Test
According to Espreso.tv: Education and Science Minister Oksen Lisovyi has announced a significant rise in registrations for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). A notable highlight is that approximately 30,000 applications came from Ukrainians living overseas. This data indicates a consistent increase in test registrations for 2025 compared to the previous year. The NMT serves as a key entrance exam for Ukrainian universities, replacing the traditional school-leaving tests during wartime.
The main testing session began on May 20 and will run through June 25. Minister Lisovyi noted that
'the number of people signing up for the NMT here is growing.'He also emphasized that there has been no negative impact on the registration process so far.
'Therefore, there is no trend of a critical exodus of students,'the minister added, pointing to stability in the education sector.
Youth Engagement in Education
This increase in NMT registrations, particularly among Ukrainians abroad, reflects young people's continued commitment to education despite challenging circumstances. The Ministry of Education and Science is closely monitoring the situation and ensuring proper conditions for all test participants.
The growing number of registrations signals that interest in education remains strong among youth, even amid the country's ongoing challenges. Importantly, Ukrainians living abroad are actively participating in the educational process, which may indicate their intention to return and contribute to Ukraine's development after completing their studies. The Ministry continues to work on maintaining stability in the education sector and supporting students worldwide.
