According to FREEДOM: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Ukrainians hold the Ukrainian flag as a symbol of their land, which they will not give to the occupiers. He emphasized that the symbols of Ukrainian statehood are known all over the world. Ukrainian symbols are recognized globally, from Europe to Japan. Now music stars raise the Ukrainian flag on stage, and the audience greets them with applause.

'For the first time, the Ukrainian flag became a state symbol during the time of the Ukrainian People's Republic in 1918. After the establishment of Soviet power, the blue-and-yellow flag was banned. On January 28, 1992, the state flag was approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. For the citizens of the country, it became a symbol of independence, dignity, and resistance against the aggressor - Russia. For foreigners, it is a marker of solidarity with a people who do not give up in the struggle against Russian occupiers,' — said correspondent FREEДOM Nikita Skoblikov.
