Up to 14,400 UAH per Child: Financial Support Announced for Ukrainian Adoptive Families.
Financial Aid for Adoptive Parents in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: A charitable initiative by the 'SOS Children's Villages' Ukraine foundation will provide financial assistance to adoptive families with foster children in 2026. The aid ranges from 10,800 to 14,400 hryvnias per child, depending on the child's specific needs.
This funding is available to foster families, family-type children’s homes, and legal guardians from October 10, 2025, through December 31, 2026. The standard payment is 10,800 hryvnias for each adopted child. For children with disabilities or special educational requirements, the amount increases to 14,400 hryvnias per child. This program is part of broader efforts to support vulnerable children and encourage adoption across Ukraine.
Required Documents to Apply
Applicants must submit a set of specific documents to qualify. These include:
- An application from the child’s legal representative,
- Copies of the applicant’s identification documents,
- A copy of the court decision on adoption,
- A copy of the child’s birth certificate,
- Bank account details for the transfer, and
- Consent to process personal data.
The goal of this initiative is to ease the financial burden on families who take on the responsibility of raising children requiring special care and attention. By providing this support, the program aims to improve the living conditions of adopted children and help families cover essential expenses.
This measure is part of a wider state policy in Ukraine focused on child welfare, which includes various social benefits and programs designed to enhance the quality of life for children and their families. Given the growing need to support foster and adoptive families, such efforts are expected to strengthen social protection for vulnerable groups and potentially increase the number of adoptions nationwide.
