Ukrzaliznytsia received $9.2 million for equipment: what will now be produced in Ukraine.
According to inkorr.com: The production unit of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' signed agreements with the international Howard G. Buffett Foundation (HGBF) worth a total of $9.2 million. According to Forbes, this funding will be directed towards the modernization of three enterprises under the 'Repair and Production' program.
According to the concluded contracts, it is planned to supply more than 20 units of high-tech equipment, including lathes, milling machines, 3D printers, 3D scanners, and thermal units.
This equipment will enable the establishment of local production of spare parts that have not been supplied to Ukraine for the past five years. Important details for locomotive repairs, such as spare parts for diesel engines, gears, pinions, and other components, will be manufactured on-site.
Ukrzaliznytsia is implementing new technologies to improve the quality of its services and ensure stable train operations.
This initiative will significantly contribute to the development of local production and reduce reliance on imports. The modernization of equipment will not only increase repair efficiency but also provide the railway sector with new, necessary components during an extremely important period for the country.
